In our latest project, BIOBRICKS.CH, we harnessed the power of metaphor to develop a dynamic BRICK model representing the process of protein biosynthesis (translation) in cell biology.

The translation process in cells, vital for protein creation, involves ribosomes reading mRNA to assemble amino acids. This process is fundamental for life, as proteins perform essential bodily functions. However, its complexity can challenge comprehension. To bridge this gap, a BRICK Prototype model was developed, representing components like mRNA and tRNA and engaging students through hands-on interaction. This active, kinesthetic learning fosters collaboration, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of complex biological systems, enhancing both individual and team skills.
